Privacy policy
Applies to the Travel Gallery Android app (on Google Play as “Photo Travel Map: Trip Gallery”), the Windows PC server and this website. Publisher: Kwappy.com. Effective from 28 October 2026.
In short
We do not sell your data and we have no access to your photos. The app has no user account and no ads, and your photos and gallery data stay on your phone, your PC and your own OneDrive. The only thing that reaches us is anonymous usage statistics of the app and maps, which you can turn off — see below.
What the app processes
- Photos and videos on your phone (“On this phone” mode) — with your permission the app reads photos and videos from Android's media library, together with their date, size and the location saved in the file (that is why it asks for access to media location). It keeps its index, favourites, places you set by hand and your home location only in the app's own storage on the phone — they are removed when you uninstall the app. Deleting and editing photos goes through Android's own dialogs (the phone's trash, the editor you choose).
- Library on your PC (PC server) — the server reads files from the folder you choose and keeps its index, thumbnails and 720p videos in a data folder you choose. Nothing leaves your PC except what you share yourself.
- Connection to the PC server — the phone and the browser connect directly to your own PC at the address you enter, with the token you set. The server keeps your guest list and a log of rejected access attempts (IP address, time, path) on your PC.
- Microsoft OneDrive (optional) — after you sign in, the app reads files from your OneDrive through Microsoft Graph and can create links or albums there that you choose to share. Sign-in happens on Microsoft's page; the app only keeps an access token on the phone. Microsoft's privacy policy applies.
- Google Timeline (optional) — an export file you add yourself is processed on your phone or your PC.
- Search by photo content (optional) — when you turn it on, the PC server analyses photo thumbnails on your PC, and in the phone-only mode the phone does it on the phone; the numeric description of the photos (vectors) stays on that device. Via OneDrive the phone downloads the vectors that the PC server saved in the data folder in your OneDrive. The words you type are processed on the phone or go only to your own server.
- Trip movie — the movie is made on the phone from your photos, map tiles and music bundled with the app; the finished MP4 goes to the Movies folder on the phone and is not sent anywhere unless you share it yourself.
Premium purchase
Premium is bought in the app through Google Play. Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy — we do not receive your payment details or your e-mail address. The app keeps Google's purchase confirmation on the phone and, when you connect to your own PC server, sends that confirmation to it so the server unlocks Premium too. The confirmation goes only to your PC, never to us.
Usage statistics
The Android app and the PC server occasionally send this website anonymous usage statistics of app features and maps — without any user data or photos, or any data identifying the user. To turn it off: in the app, Settings → Statistics; in the server window, Settings → “Send anonymous statistics”.
Third-party services
- Map tiles are loaded from map providers (OpenStreetMap, Esri). The provider sees your IP address and the part of the map you are viewing.
- Place names — on the phone, the app asks Android's geocoding service (provided by Google) for names of a coarse coordinate grid (about 5 km); the PC server asks OpenStreetMap Nominatim the same. The exact locations of your photos are never sent.
- Model for content search — when you first turn this feature on, the PC server or the phone app downloads the model files from Hugging Face (huggingface.co), and the PC server also the ONNX Runtime library from NuGet (api.nuget.org); if either is unavailable, the same copy of the files from GitHub (github.com). These services then see the device's IP address; no photos are sent.
- Cloudflare — this website (including usage statistics and update checks) runs through Cloudflare, which processes the IP address of connecting devices under its own privacy policy.
- PC server updates — once a day the server checks this website for a new version (you can turn this off in the server window). The website then sees the PC's IP address.
Android app permissions
- Photos and videos and media location — only in the “On this phone” mode, to show your photos on the map.
- Internet — map tiles, place names, the connection to your PC server or OneDrive, and Google Play.
Deleting your data
All gallery data lives on your devices: uninstalling the app removes its data from the phone, and deleting the server's data folder removes it from the PC. Usage statistics (see above) are not linked to any device; you can turn sending off in settings.
